About Divitia Gratiae University
Who We Are
An accredited Christian university in Chișinău, Moldova
Divitia Gratiae University (UDG) is an accredited Christian university in Chișinău, Moldova, preparing servant leaders in theology, mission, social work, and management to serve their communities through faith and professional excellence.
Founded in 1993 by the Union of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Moldova, UDG combines rigorous academic formation with deep spiritual grounding. Our programs are developed in line with Moldova’s national qualification standards and internationally accredited by the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE), listed in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).
Our Story
Born in a moment of unprecedented freedom
UDG was born in a moment of never seen before freedom. In 1993, as Moldova emerged from the Soviet era and theological education became possible, the evangelical churches of Moldova established a school to prepare the leaders the church and the nation would need. What began as a Bible institute has grown into a university — one that has sent graduates into pulpits, classrooms, social services, mission fields, and businesses across Moldova and far beyond.
“The riches of God’s grace — divitia gratiae — are worth a lifetime of serious study and faithful service.”

A Word from the Rector
When students arrive at UDG, they bring more than documents and ambitions — they bring a calling. Our task, as a community of faculty and staff, is to take that calling seriously: to give it academic depth, practical skill, and spiritual maturity.
I am convinced that Moldova and the nations around us need leaders who refuse to separate professional excellence from Christian faithfulness — pastors who think rigorously, social workers who love sacrificially, and managers who lead with integrity. That is who we aim to form here.
Whether you are a prospective student, a parent, a church leader, or a partner from abroad: welcome. Our doors, and our story, are open to you.

Our Community
A residential learning community
UDG is a residential learning community. All bachelor’s students share a common first year of biblical and spiritual formation before specializing — which means a theology student, a future social worker, and a future entrepreneur study Scripture side by side.
Life on campus includes weekly chapels, student-led ministries, practical internships, and a faculty who know their students by name.
Partnerships & Global Connections
We do not stand alone
UDG is accredited through ECTE and connected to a network of churches, universities, and mission organizations across Europe and North America. Our partners support student scholarships, faculty development, conferences, and campus projects — and many have walked with us for decades.
